Abstract:

Scar carcinoma, also named as Marjolin ulcer, is commonly derived from the malignant transformation of scar ulcer with its non-healing as the main clinic manifestation. Although the factors and mechanisms of scar carcinoma are not very clear, chronic stimulations such as repeated rupture, erosion and infection of scars play an important role in its pathogenesis. Currently, no consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of scar carcinoma has been developed. Based on the literature and the clinical experience and viewpoints of experts, we developed a consensus regarding on the etiology, pathology, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of scar carcinoma, so as to provide helpful reference for its prevention and treatment in clinic.

Key words: Scar carcinoma, Chronic ulcer, Diagnosis and treatment, Experts consensus
