Abstract:

Diabetes is a disease of the century, involving multiple systems and organs, with a large consumption of the medical resources. A considerable number of diabetics develop diabetic foot. In addition to genetic susceptibility, the high incidence of diabetes in Chinese people is closely related to changes in people′s lifestyle and living standards. The treatment of diabetes should be focused on prevention, the establishment of a healthy lifestyle, the long-term monitoring of the susceptible people, and the weight control of children and teenagers. It is necessary to carry out nationwide diabetes prevention and control and health campaigns. Surgical methods such as blood circulation reconstruction, surgical debridement, wound repair and orthopaedic treatment have good effects on the treatment of diabetic foot. Risk factors should be avoided in the treatment of diabetic foot. Biological agents such as platelet-rich plasma and exosomes have a certain role in promoting wound healing, and stem cell technology will be the fundamental solution for the treatment of diabetes in the future. The establishment of a well-defined diabetic foot management system can gradually make the medical treatment of diabetes more standardized and complete. The development of artificial intelligence and regenerative medicine will bring revolutionary changes to the prevention and treatment of diabetes and diabetic foot.
