Abstract:

Department of Burn in Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is derived from the group of burn treatment in Department of Surgery of Guangci Hospital, Shanghai Second Medical College in 1958. In the past 63 years, they have created and developed unique techniques for the treatment of large area deep burns, including early stage and batch scab-cutting of deep burn wounds, and mixed transplantation of large allogeneic or allogeneic skin with perforation and inlaying of autogeneic small skin patches to cover the wounds, "Ruijin formula" for early fluid resuscitation, and "hibernation therapy" for stress control of burn. These techniques, together with other innovative treatment techniques in China, are known as the "Chinese method" for burn treatment. They have also made progress and development in burn infection prevention and treatment, wound repair, rehabilitation and plastic and other aspects of clinical technology. They constantly summarize clinical practice and research, publish influential literature and works in the academic field, and carry out academic exchanges and professional teaching at home and abroad. They are advancing with the era to promote the further development of the discipline.
