To investigate the status quo of burn and trauma patients' readiness for hospital discharge and explore its influencing factors, in order to improve nursing measures, provide theoretical basis for improving discharge readiness of burn and trauma patients.

General information questionnaire, the readiness for hospital discharge scale and general self-efficacy scale were delivered to 150 patients from burn and trauma ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University.

The mean score of the readiness for hospital discharge was (6.1±1.7)points, the average score of self-efficacy was (2.5±0.7)points, showing a positive correlation between them (r=0.202, P<0.05). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that occupation, gender, education level, whether to live with family members, and total self-efficacy score were influencing factors of readiness for hospital discharge.

The readiness for hospital discharge and self-efficacy of burn and trauma patients need to be improved. Medical staff should pay more attention to patients who are female, unemployed, poorly educated, not living with family members and patients with low self-efficacy scores, improve the readiness for hospital discharge of burn and trauma patients and promote functional recovery after burn and trauma.
