Analysis of characteristics and current status of treatment on chronic wounds of elderly patients

Abstract:

With China enters the aging society, the pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers and other chronic wounds of elderly patients are increasing. Due to the complicated etiology and difficulty in treatment, it poses a great challenge to clinicians. This article clarifies the prevention and treatment of chronic wounds from the characteristics, causes, prevention and treatment of the elderly patients with chronic wounds. The treatment of chronic wounds of elderly patients should focus on the prevention. While actively treating the primary diseases, the individually and multi-disciplinary cooperative treatment plan can be adopt to reducing the morbidity and mortality of elderly patients with chronic wounds, and improve the cure rate.
