Abstract:

Acidic fibroblast growth factor (aFGF) has been proved to repair the tissue injury at the end of twenty century, and the researches on its structural characteristics and clinical application have made some progress in recent years. Based on the structural features of aFGF, this paper summarizes the results of studies on the role of aFGF in wound healing in the skin and mucosal tissue. The effects of aFGF on wound healing, vascular injury, repair of nerve tissue injury and scar formation are discusses respectively. This paper also introduces the mechanism of action, clinical effects and similarities and differences relative to basic fibroblast growth factor of aFGF. In the future, the exploration of rational methods and time of drug delivery should be focused in the research of aFGF.
