Abstract:

Except for extensive skin injury, severe burns is often accompanied by complex systemic complications, such as shock, severe infection, inhalation lung injury, and low immunity, which is an important cause of death of severe burn patients. Through the unremitting efforts of several generations, the level of burn treatment in China has made great progress, made remarkable achievements, and ranks among the advanced in the world. However, for the key treatment problems of severe burns, such as sepsis prevention and treatment, wound treatment, nutritional support, sedation, analgesia, and rehabilitation treatment, the treatment concept and thinking mode of each burn worker are different. In addition, the survivors of severe burns also face thorny problems such as large-scale scars, post-traumatic stress syndrome, facial damage, and limb dysfunction. In recent ten years, with the deepening of basic research on burns and the continuous replacement and promotion of emerging technologies, stem cell transplantation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation technology, 3D printing technology, and intelligent telemedicine have shown potential advantages and great application prospects in the treatment of severe burns. Therefore, the author especially writes this article to elaborate on the key points and difficulties of the treatment of severe burns and the application of emerging technologies, in order to standardize and improve the treatment scheme of severe burns and provide a theoretical basis for further improving the long-term quality of life of patients.
