Abstract:

The posterolateral tibial plateau fracture belongs to intra-articular fracture, which has a significant impact on the function of knee joint. Tibial plateau posterior column fracture is considered to be a driving factor of knee dysfunction. For the posterolateral tibial plateau fracture, in addition to selecting the appropriate surgical approach for the exposure of the fracture, the support of the fracture block is also an important factor affecting the treatment effect. In addition, the relationship between the morphological characteristics of the proximal posterior tibia and the local anatomy of the posterolateral tibial plateau fracture is complex, and the choice of surgical approach is controversial. The preoperative understanding of soft tissue injury is helpful for the operator to comprehensively describe the overall injury. The classification of the relationship between fracture morphology and injury mechanism can strengthen the clinician′s comprehensive understanding of the posterolateral tibial plateau fracture and help the operator to choose an appropriate surgical approach. When dealing with the posterolateral tibial plateau fracture, we should not only consider the exposure and fixation of the fracture block, but also pay attention to the fracture morphology, injury mechanism and soft tissue injury. In recent years, with the development of new internal fixation devices, it plays an auxiliary role in optimizing the surgical approach of posterolateral tibial plateau fracture.

Key words: Posterolateral tibial plateau fracture, Surgical approach, Soft -tissue injury, Damage mechanism, Fracture morphology, Internal fixation
