Abstract:

Avascular necrosis of femoral head caused by long-term use of hormones has attracted more and more attention. The successful establishment of animal model of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head(SONFH) may help us to understand the pathogenesis of SONFH, and lays a good foundation for preventing the occurrence and collapse of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Although many scholars choose different animals and methods to establish animal models of ONFH to find similar pathological changes to human, the current situation is not satisfactory. In this paper, the research status and progress of pathological and imaging diagnosis, selection of animals, preparation methods of SONFH in animals were summarized to provide some reference for the research of SONFH.

Key words: Femur head necrosis, Hormones, Models, animal
