Preparation of collagen/hydroxyapatite composites and its research in the repair for bone defect

Abstract:

Collagen/hydroxyapatite composites have been fabricated with similar composition, structure and properties with natural bone by simulating its structure. In this paper, the authors will review the preparation methods, biomimetic formation mechanism, characterization methods, applications in bone defect repair, as well as the prospect of collagen/hydroxyapatite composites.
