Abstract:

With the change of disease spectrum, the formation of wounds in hospitalized patients in China in the past two decades has shown obvious change in the causes of wounds, which has transformated from " wounds of trauma origin" to " wounds of disease origin". This kind of disease-driven wounds has many causes and different mechanisms of occurrence. Therefore, it is necessary to have a specialist to satisfy the needs of various wound treatments. For this, on November 29, 2019, the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China issued the " Notice of the General Office of the National Health Commission on Strengthening the Management of Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Refractory Wounds (Ulcers)" [2019]# 865". The notice clearly stated that the establishment of wound healing departments in qualified medical institutions. Based on the fact that wound healing is an emerging subject, the mechanism of chronic wounds and the relevant content of diagnosis and treatment behaviors are not involved in the undergraduate medical education system around the world. In order to establish a group of medical teams and medical institutions that can represent the national level in the discipline of wound healing in China, a series of textbooks have been developed, and multi-form teaching modes have been set up under the guidance of the National Health Commission to improve the diagnosis and treatment capabilities of specialist medical staff. Also, the standardized entries for subject construction have been proposed.
